Mainlanders ready to tour Taiwan

After a nine-day visit to Taiwan, a delegation of tourism officials from the Chinese mainland left the island for Macao on Sunday. China Tourism Association head Shao Qiwei, who was leading the delegation, says the mainland is now ready to send tourists to Taiwan. Shao Qiwei said the relevant departments on the mainland are fully prepared to allow for tours to Taiwan for mainland residents. The central government permitted civilian travel to the island in May this year. Shao said mainland tourists would be well-received. He noted that Taiwan has adequate tourism facilities, a high standard of service and sound mechanisms for guaranteeing the safety of visitors. His delegation were given a warm welcome in Taiwan, and found the island’s tourist attractions very interesting. He said: “We gained a general idea of the development of Taiwan’s tourism industry. The visit will help us work together on a number of key issues in the future to push forward cross-straits tourism cooperation.” Looking forward to the possibility of visiting Taiwan, many of the mainland’s travel agencies have planned different tours for various target groups. The relevant government departments have also worked out regulations for mainland tourist visits to the island. The delegation arrived in Taiwan on October 28. During their trip, they inspected tourist sites, hotels, transport networks, shopping and entertainment facilities, service levels and tourist safety conditions.

中国考察团赴台旅游
在结束了九天赴台考察之后，中国大陆的旅游团代表们周日离开了台湾前往澳门。中国旅游协会会长卲琪伟表示：大陆将准备输送旅客去台湾旅游。
卲琪伟说国内有关部门对允许内地居民去台湾旅游已经做好了充分准备。中央政府今年五月就通过了这项批准。
卲琪伟说大陆游客将会受到热烈的欢迎。他同时还表示台湾有完善的旅游设施，高品质的服务水准和高质量的机器设备，确保游客的安全。
代表团一行在台湾受到热烈欢迎，并且发现台湾的一些旅游景点很有趣。
卲琪伟说：“这次旅游使我们对台湾旅游业的发展有了总的认识，帮助我们在未来一些关键问题上寻求解决方案，共同推进海峡两岸旅游业合作的步伐。”
一直期望赴台旅游能够成功的大陆许多旅行社已经针对不同的目标群制定了不同的旅游路线。同时相关的政府部门也出台了赴台旅游的一些政策规定。
本次旅行团是10月28日到达台湾的。在此期间，他们考察了一些旅游景点、宾馆、交通路线、购物和娱乐场所、服务水平和游客安全条件等。
